Time for a Peel
With summer coming to a close and fall quickly approaching, it is an ideal time of year for peels. But be weary of chemical laden peels that have the potential to cause uncomfortable side effects such as irritation, redness, and itching. Here at DNA Health Institute we have several all natural peels formulated with potent antioxidant protection to help achieve smoother, clearer skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. All of our peels are exclusively formulated by Dr. Noel Aguilar. Read further for a complete list of our peels.
Lyco-Ionic Jessner Peel
The Lyco-Ionic Jessner Peel combines Resorcinol, Salicyclic Acid, L-Lactic Acid, Red Wine and Lycopene to provide a noticeable and effective exfoliation. This peel is rich in antioxidants to minimize injury and protect the skin while peeling. The Jessner Peel process usually requires one full week from application to completion and is great for those who are acne prone, photo damaged/hyper-pigmented, have fine lines, or have post inflammatory pigmentation due to acne scarring.
Glyco-Ionic Gel Peel
Glycolic acid’s small molecular size allows penetration of the epidermis, thus stimulating new growth of skin and collagen by decreasing the bond that holds dead skin cells on the surface. This peel freshens skin appearance leaving behind new layers of clearer, smoother skin. It is excellent for photodamage, fine lines, enlarged pores, acne, hyper-pigmentation, dull complexion, and ingrown hair.
Lacto-Ionic Gel Peel
The Lacto-Ionic Gel Peel is milder on skin than other peels, and well tolerated by most skin types including sensitive and rosacea skin. Lactic acid is a humectant and a component of natural moisturizing factor (NMF) of the stratum corneum. This is a great choice for mature, dry skin and beneficial in improving hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, photo-damaged skin, enlarged pores, and rosacea.
Sal-Ionic Gel Peel
The Sal-Ionic Polymer Peel is in a 10% gel form for a more controlled application without the typical irritation from a synthetic formulation. It is anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial and is tolerated by all skin types. It is excellent for treating acne, large pores, fine lines, acne scars, melasma, and post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation.
And don’t forget…
Please remember that the use of peels, especially peels containing alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun, increasing the possibility of sunburn. It is extremely important to limit sun exposure and use sunblock while using peels. In addition, most of our peels can be used with rosacea due to their anti-inflamatory effects, but use with caution.
